Star fruit, also known as carambola, is a species of fruit tree commonly seen around Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. Its fruit is often consumed in Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, Micronesia, and parts of East Asia.
A star shape is formed when it is cut sideways. All of the fruit is edible. It is used in cooking and canning and juice are also made.
